GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (PGD)

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants for Post Graduate Diploma programmes must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of Federal University Gusau including Credit Pass in Mathematics and English Language.

A candidate must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. A first degree with at least third class honours from the Federal University Gusau or any other approved institution.
  2. Qualifications other than (1) approved by the Senate of Federal University Gusau.
  3. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with Pass, or above in its relevant areas from a recognised institution

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (PGD)

MODE OF STUDY

FULL TIME: Minimum of 12 months, Maximum of 18 months

PART TIME: Minimum of 18 months, Maximum of 24 months

However, in exceptional circumstances extension may be granted upon the recommendation of the appropriate Faculty and the Postgraduate School Board.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

For the students to be awarded with Post Graduate Diploma in Education of Federal University Gusau, he/she must have:

  1. Satisfied all the requirements of Postgraduate School.
  2. Passed written examinations for all prescribed courses.
  3. Written and submitted a research project.

TUITION AND OTHER FEES

As may be determined by the University from time to time.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (MASTERS)

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants for Masters degree programmes must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of Federal University Gusau including Credit Pass in Mathematics and English Language.

A candidate must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. A first degree with at least good second-class honours from the Federal University Gusau or any other approved Institution.
  2. Qualifications other than (1) approved by the Senate of Federal University Gusau. A candidate may be required by the Board of the Postgraduate School prior to registration to pass written and/or oral examinations.
  3. Candidates with at least third class degree or HND and University PGD with CPGA of 3.0/5.00 may be considered for admission in to academic master’s degree programs.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (MASTERS)

MODE OF STUDY

FULL TIME: Minimum of 18 months, Maximum of 24 months

PART TIME: Minimum of 24 months, Maximum of 36 months

For the students to be awarded with Master Degree of Federal University Gusau, he/she must have:

  1. Satisfied all the requirements of Postgraduate School.
  2. Passed written examinations for all prescribed courses.
  3. Passed an oral examination/ viva voce on the chosen area of research (Dissertation).

TUITION AND OTHER FEES

As may be determined by the University from time to time.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (PhD)

ELIGIBILITY AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

All applicants for the degree M.Phil and Ph.D programmes must satisfy the basic matriculation requirements of Federal University Gusau including Credit Pass in Mathematics and English Language.

A candidate must have one of the following qualifications:

  1. A Master degree with at least CGPA of 3.5 on a 5 points scale from the Federal University Gusau or any other approved Institution.
  2. Qualifications other than (1) above as approved by the Senate of Federal University Gusau. A candidate may be required by the Board of the Postgraduate School prior to registration to pass written and/or oral examinations.

MODE OF STUDY (PhD)

FULL TIME: Minimum of 24 months, Maximum of 48 months

PART TIME: Minimum of 48 months, Maximum of 60 months

However, in exceptional circumstances extension may be granted upon the recommendation of the appropriate Faculty and the Postgraduate School Board.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION

For the students to be awarded with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) of Federal University Gusau, he/she must have:

  1. Satisfied all the requirements of Postgraduate School.
  2. Passed written examinations for all prescribed courses.
  3. Passed an oral examination/ viva voce on the chosen area of research (Thesis).

As may be determined by the University from time to time.
